This very difficult and perplexing time and the stresses it has placed on everyone especially parents, carers and children, means that our service is more required than ever. We have made a number of adaptions to ensure we can still support the children and families seeking our help.

Early on, our therapists undertook training in the video-link play therapy we are calling Tele-play. This has been very successful and is being enhanced by the development of a virtual playroom. Filial therapy sessions are also being delivered online.

Some children, though, missed the face-to-face contact with a therapist and so we have adapted one of our playrooms using a Perspex screen. We have been very pleased at how children have adapted to this way of being in play therapy.

We are, of course, undertaking all the accepted hygiene precautions in our centres, and observing track and trace and isolation requirements to reduce possible transmission of the virus.

However, we need to ensure your wellbeing and that of our therapists during this unprecedented outbreak of Covid-19 virus. So we ask, please do not bring your child or yourself to your therapy session if you are experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough or congestion or if you have possibly been in contact with someone else with those symptoms.

We will not be able to hold a session for any child or adult displaying symptoms. If your therapist should become unwell and symptomatic, we will notify you of the session cancellation as soon as possible.

If you or your child becomes unwell after attending a session, please notify your therapist or The Windfall Centre as soon as possible as we can then make sure to prevent further spread at the clinics. Please wash hands on arrival for your session and on departure.

Your help in this is essential and appreciated so we can work together to support our families and  communities at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
